LPC Capacitors – Reactive Power Compensation for Reliable Installation Operation

LPC capacitors are a proven element in reactive power compensation systems, designed to reduce energy losses and improve energy efficiency. They are used both in individual loads (transformers, motors, rectifiers) and in automatic capacitor banks. Thanks to the use of advanced materials and construction, they ensure long-term and trouble-free operation in demanding industrial conditions.

Construction and characteristic features

LPC capacitors utilize metallized polypropylene film with low losses, which translates to high energy efficiency. Filled with environmentally friendly polypropylene resin, they provide excellent heat dissipation properties and reliable operation. The aluminum housing protects the internal components from mechanical damage and environmental influences. The capacitor construction includes an internal overpressure disconnect device, which protects the capacitor bank from serious failures in the event of overload or short circuit. Additionally, the capacitors are equipped with discharge resistors, which reduce the voltage at the terminals to a safe level after power disconnection (to 75V within 3 minutes).

Mounting and connection

The LPC 4 kVAr capacitor has connector connections (faston), which facilitates quick and secure mounting. Grounding of the housing is carried out via the bottom mounting screw, which provides additional safety. Capacitors can be mounted both vertically and horizontally – in the case of horizontal mounting, additional support of the structure is recommended. It is important to maintain appropriate selectivity of protection and regularly monitor the operating parameters of the capacitors.
