Characteristic C means that the circuit breaker reacts more slowly to short-term current surges, which is particularly important when connecting devices with motors or other loads with high starting current – it will not trip unnecessarily when a refrigerator or washing machine is turned on. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity at 6kA at 230/400V ensures effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a serious failure. The device has a neutral pole (N), which is also disconnected, which increases safety in the event of insulation damage.

Construction and user features

The ETIMAT 6 circuit breaker has been designed with the convenience of installers and users in mind. A width of 4 modules allows for efficient use of space in the switchgear cabinet. The possibility of double connection of the insulating busbar (top and bottom) facilitates the connection of wires. The contact position indicator allows for a quick visual check of the circuit breaker status (on/off). The circuit breaker lever can be sealed in the "On" or "Off" position, which prevents accidental change of the circuit state. The "ON/OFF" marking on the lever further facilitates operation. Additionally, the device is compatible with accessories such as auxiliary contacts (PS ETIMAT 10) and overcurrent releases (DA ETIMAT 10), which allows to expand the functionality of the circuit breaker.
