Protection and safety in electrical installations

The EFI-P2 AC 63/0.5 residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) is a key element ensuring safety in every electrical installation. Its primary function is to protect against electric shock, both in the case of direct and indirect contact with live parts. Additionally, it protects devices from potential fire hazard resulting from insulation damage.

Installed in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks, where the neutral and earth conductors are separated, it provides a reliable protective barrier.

This two-pole RCCB with a rated current of 63A and AC sensitivity of 0.5A, is used in both residential and commercial buildings. In accordance with DIN VDE 0100-482 and IEC 60364-4-482 standards, residual current devices with a differential current of up to 300 mA are essential for fire protection of cables and wires in TN and TT systems. In installations exposed to an increased risk of fire – e.g. with infrared heaters – it is recommended to use circuit breakers with a differential current of 30 mA.

Construction features and operating parameters

The EFI-P2 AC 63/0.5 circuit breaker is characterized by a solid construction and high quality workmanship. Mounted on a DIN rail, it occupies a width of two modules (68 mm mounting depth). Its housing has a degree of protection IP20, which provides basic protection against accidental contact. The short-circuit strength at the level of 10 kA guarantees its reliable operation even in the event of overloads or short circuits in the installation. It is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 240V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, and its insulation withstands a voltage of up to 440V.

The connection terminals allow connection of multi-wire and solid-core wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm². It is equipped with a test button to enable regular checking of its functionality and an indicator of the main contact position for easy identification of the circuit breaker status (ON/OFF). Additional terminal protection against contact with voltage and the possibility of sealing the lever increase the level of safety. The terminal design also allows the use of insulated busbars on both the upper and lower terminals.
