Residual Current Device (RCD) is a key element of any electrical installation, ensuring the safety of users and equipment. The EFI-P2 AC 80/0.03 model is a reliable device designed to protect against electric shock, both direct and indirect contact. It also protects against potential fire hazards resulting from damage to cable insulation.

This two-pole (2P) switch with a rated current of 80A and a differential current sensitivity of 0.03A is intended for use in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks. Thanks to its AC characteristic, it reacts to alternating currents, making it an ideal solution for most domestic and industrial applications. A rated residual current value of 30mA provides effective additional protection for people against electric shock.

Construction and mounting

The switch is designed for mounting on a DIN rail, which simplifies and speeds up installation. Compact dimensions – a width of 2 modules (36mm) and a depth of 68mm – allow for efficient use of space in the distribution board. Connection terminals allow the connection of solid and stranded wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm², providing flexibility in cable selection. Additionally, the terminal protection against accidental contact increases safety during installation and maintenance.

Parameters and application

The device is characterized by a high surge current resistance (0.4kA) and a conditional short-circuit resistance of 10kA, which guarantees its reliable operation even in difficult operating conditions. Designed to operate at a frequency of 50/60 Hz, it meets the requirements of most European power grids. The protection degree IP20 provides protection against accidental contact and the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.

EFI-P RCDs are manufactured with attention to detail, using a fully automated production line, which translates into high quality and reliability of each unit. Each switch has a unique QR code containing detailed technical and production data and measurement test results, which facilitates product identification and verification. The "Test" button allows the end user to regularly check the functionality of the switch.
