Residual current circuit breaker EFI-P4 A 40/0.3 002061532
Residual Current Device (RCD) is a key element of every electrical installation, providing protection for people and equipment against the effects of electric shock and potential fire hazards. The EFI-P4 A 40/0.3 model from ETI Polam is a four-pole switch, designed to operate in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks, where the neutral and earth conductors can be separated or combined.
This RCD is characterized by high reliability and is fully manufactured on an automated production line, guaranteeing repeatable parameters and high quality workmanship. This ensures that both installers and end-users can rely on the safe and long-lasting operation of the device. Additionally, each switch has a unique QR code with technical data and measurement test results – useful for servicing and inspection.
Construction and functionality
The EFI-P4 A 40/0.3 switch is designed for easy mounting on a DIN rail. Its compact dimensions (4 module width) allow for efficient use of space in the distribution board. Connection terminals allow connection of multi-wire and solid-core wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm², and protection against electric shock increases safety during installation and operation. The NL version (neutral pole on the left side) facilitates cable organization in distribution cabinets.
Application and protection
The type A RCD is sensitive to both AC differential currents and pulsating DC currents, making it an ideal solution for protecting against the effects of short circuits to earth and indirect contact with faulty equipment. The rated current of 40A and the rated differential current of 0.3A provide effective protection for electrical circuits with medium power. The short-circuit strength of 10kA guarantees resistance to sudden current surges during short circuits. Compliance with IEC EN 61008 confirms compliance with European safety standards.
It is important to select the correct value of the differential current depending on the intended use of the circuit – for additional protection (direct contact) values ≤ 30mA are recommended, and for protection against indirect contact ≤ 300mA. In the case of installations with underfloor or ceiling heating with high resistance, it is necessary to consider using switches with special parameters (e.g. type F or B).
