Protection and safety in electrical installations
Residual Current Device (RCD) EFI-P4 AC 16/0.5 is a key element ensuring safety in every electrical circuit. Its function is to protect against electric shock, both in direct and indirect contact with live conductors. Additionally, it protects devices from damage caused by short circuits or leakage currents. Mounted on a DIN rail, this four-pole (AC) switch with a rated current of 16A and a sensitivity of 0.5A provides reliable protection for electrical installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Universal application and compliance with standards
The EFI-P4 AC switch works in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks. Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users looking for a comprehensive solution in terms of shock protection. In accordance with DIN VDE 0100-482 and IEC 60364-4-482 standards, residual current devices are essential to ensure fire safety – especially in the case of cables and wires in TN and TT systems, where a differential current IΔn ≤ 300 mA is required. In installations exposed to fire due to increased resistance (e.g., infrared ceiling heaters), it is recommended to use switches with a differential current IΔn = 30 mA.
Construction and characteristic features
The EFI-P4 AC switch is characterized by a solid construction and a number of functions that facilitate installation and operation. Its width of 4 modules allows for easy adaptation to an existing distribution board. Connection terminals allow the connection of multi-wire and solid-core wires with a cross-section of 25 mm². Additionally, the switch has protection against touching live parts and the possibility of sealing the lever in the "On" and "Off" positions, which prevents unauthorized changes to the settings. The "Test" button allows you to regularly check the correct operation of the device, and the contact position indicator makes it easier to identify the status of the switch (ON/OFF). The conditional short-circuit strength is 10 kA at a rated voltage of 400V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
