The KZS-2M residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection is a key element of every safe electrical installation. It provides comprehensive protection against the effects of electric shock, both direct and indirect, and also protects against fire in the event of damage to cable insulation. Additionally, it effectively protects circuits against overloads and short circuits. This device is essential both in newly built installations and during the modernization of existing ones.

Functionality and technical parameters

The device is designed to operate in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks, where the neutral and earth conductors can be separated or connected. A rated differential current of 0.03A (sensitivity A) ensures that the circuit breaker reacts quickly to dangerous leakage currents, minimizing the risk of electric shock. Characteristic B provides fast tripping in the event of short circuits and overloads, while allowing the starting of devices with short-term inrush current – which is particularly important when connecting motors or transformers. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity reaches 10kA (according to EN 61009) and 15kA (according to IEC 60947-2), which guarantees effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a failure. A compact width of 2 modules makes it easy to install in switchboards with limited space.

Installation and application

The KZS-2M circuit breaker is used to protect circuits with a rated current of 16A and a voltage of 230V. The wire cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² allows connection of a wide range of solid and stranded wires. The terminals are protected against accidental contact, which increases safety during installation and operation. Additionally, the possibility of mounting auxiliary contacts PS KZS-2M/4M (available separately) expands the functionality of the device, enabling remote monitoring of the circuit breaker status. The test button allows regular checking of the correct operation of the residual current mechanism – this is a simple operation that significantly affects the safety of the entire electrical installation.
