The ETITEC A 440/5/EK-N surge protector is a protective element that safeguards electrical installations and devices connected to them from the effects of atmospheric and switching surges. Its function is to divert excess energy to ground, minimizing the risk of damage and failures. This is particularly important in places prone to frequent lightning strikes or in installations powering sensitive electronic devices.

Construction and application

This surge protector is designed to operate in 230/400V 50Hz networks. Its construction is based on voltage-limiting elements that, when a surge is detected, direct the current to ground. Protection class II provides additional safety. Model A 440/5 is characterized by high efficiency at a rated voltage of 440V and a discharge current of 5kA. The rated discharge current (10/350) for one pole is 40kA.
