The SSB SB 5-12L battery is a maintenance-free power source, created using AGM technology, which will perform well in a wide range of applications. It is a particularly good choice where reliability and long-term operation in buffer mode are required – i.e. as an emergency power supply. It will work both in professional installations and in devices used by end customers.

Construction and application

The battery uses VRLA-AGM technology, which means that the electrolyte is trapped in a glass mat separator. This solution eliminates the need for servicing and replenishing fluids, and also increases safety. Thanks to this, the battery is sealed and can operate in various positions. It will find application in alarm systems, access control, fiscal cash registers, emergency power supply for automation and security systems, and medical devices. It will also work in portable devices requiring a stable power supply.

Parameters and construction features

The SSB SB 5-12L battery offers a capacity of 5 Ah at a nominal voltage of 12 V. Its compact dimensions (90 mm length, 70 mm width and 107 mm height) allow for easy integration with various devices. It is characterized by low self-discharge – a capacity drop of 3% after a month at a temperature of 25°C – which is important during longer periods of disuse. Made of high-quality materials, such as ABS (UL94HB) housing, it ensures durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It has Faston 6.3 mm or 4.8mm connectors, which facilitate connection to the electrical installation. The designed service life of the battery is 6-9 years for buffer operation (at a temperature of 20-25°C), which guarantees long-term and trouble-free operation. The internal resistance of the battery is approximately 35-42.5 mΩ.

Important to remember: Selecting the appropriate charging voltage is crucial for the battery life – 13.6V - 13.8V is recommended for buffer operation, and 14.5V - 14.9V for cyclic operation.
