Microprocessor phase sequence and phase failure sensor CKF-316-TRMS
Phase sequence and phase failure protector – reliable motor protection.
This microprocessor-based phase sequence and phase failure protector CKF-316-TRMS is a key element in protecting three-phase powered electric motors. Its task is to monitor the voltage status in individual phases and react to potentially dangerous situations, such as the failure of one phase or its asymmetry. This minimizes the risk of motor damage and ensures its long-term, trouble-free operation. DIN rail mounting simplifies integration with existing electrical infrastructure.
Functionality and application
The CKF-316-TRMS sensor not only protects against damage caused by power supply problems, but also prevents incorrect motor rotation directions resulting from a change in phase sequence. This makes it an ideal solution for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications where reliable motor operation is a priority. An LED indicator informs about the correct phase sequence and the occurrence of problems, which facilitates diagnostics and a quick response in the event of a failure.
Key features:
- Phase failure protection: Detects the absence of voltage in any phase, preventing overload and motor damage.
- Phase sequence control: Ensures the correct direction of motor rotation by blocking start-up in case of incorrect phase sequence.
- Voltage asymmetry monitoring: Reacts to uneven voltages between phases, which can lead to overheating and motor failure.
- Delayed shutdown: A 4-second shutdown delay prevents accidental motor disconnection during momentary voltage drops.
- LED indication: LED indicators inform about the power supply status and correct phase sequence, facilitating diagnostics.
- Screw terminals: Allow solid and secure connection of wires with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm².
- Compact size: DIN rail mounting takes up only 1 module (18 mm), saving space in the switchgear cabinet.
- No external power supply required: The sensor draws power directly from the monitored network.
Operating parameters and construction
The CKF-316-TRMS sensor is designed to operate in a wide range of voltages (190…270 V) and temperatures (-25°C to +40°C). Its solid construction ensures reliable operation even in harsh industrial conditions. The NO/NC switching contact allows flexible connection to control and signaling systems. The voltage asymmetry trigger value is 55V, and the voltage hysteresis is 5V, ensuring precise sensor operation. Power consumption is 1.6W, making it an energy-saving solution.
