Microprocessor phase failure and asymmetry sensor CZF-310-TRMS
Phase control and motor protection – reliable phase failure sensor CZF-310-TRMS
This microprocessor-based phase failure and asymmetry sensor is designed to protect electric motors powered by a three-phase network. Its task is to detect dangerous situations, such as voltage loss in one or more phases, as well as voltage asymmetry between phases, which can lead to motor damage. DIN rail mounting simplifies integration with existing electrical installations. The device uses True RMS technology for precise measurements.
Functionality and application
CZF-310-TRMS monitors the voltage status in the three-phase network, reacting to its disturbances. In the event of a phase failure or excessive asymmetry, the sensor disconnects the contact, preventing the motor from starting. A 4-second disconnection delay prevents accidental disconnection of the device during short-term voltage drops. Automatic re-engagement occurs after the correct power parameters are restored – when the voltage rises by 5V above the activation threshold. This solution minimizes downtime and ensures continuity of operation.
This sensor finds application everywhere where effective protection of electric motors against the effects of incorrect power supply is required – in industrial plants, workshops, public buildings and in homes with connected devices requiring protection.
Characteristics and benefits
- Motor protection: Protects electric motors from damage caused by phase failure or voltage asymmetry.
- Precise measurements: The use of True RMS technology ensures accurate detection of disturbances in the power supply network.
- Versatility: The possibility of mounting on a DIN rail facilitates installation in various configurations.
- Prevention of downtime: The disconnection delay protects against accidental disconnection of the motor during momentary voltage drops, and automatic re-engagement minimizes downtime.
- Status indication: Three LEDs indicate the status of the device, making diagnostics and control of the system operation easier.
- Easy connection: Screw connection provides convenient and safe connection of wires with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm².
- Voltage range: The sensor operates in a voltage range of 140 to 270 V, making it compatible with various power systems.
- Compact dimensions: It occupies only one module (18 mm) on the DIN rail, saving space in the switchgear cabinet.
The voltage measurement range reaches up to 270 V, and the minimum and maximum time delay in case of power failure is 4 seconds. The contact load current is a maximum of 10 A. The sensor reacts to voltage asymmetry of approximately 55 V with a hysteresis level of approximately 5 V. The operating temperature is in the range of -25°C to +40°C, and the wire connection is realized using screw terminals with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm².
This sensor is a solid solution for professionals and end-users looking for reliable protection of their electric motors against the effects of incorrect power supply. Its functionality and ease of installation make it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications.
