Temperature transducer with MODBUS RTU interface

This temperature transducer, designed to work with PT-100 sensors, enables precise temperature measurement and data transmission using the MODBUS RTU protocol. The device is particularly useful in automation, monitoring and control systems where reliable communication with other devices on the RS-485 network is required. The transducer is modular, making it easy to integrate with existing installations.

Wide measurement range and reliability

The transducer is characterized by a wide measurement range from -100°C to 400°C, allowing it to be used in various industrial applications. Thanks to its cooperation with a 3-wire PT-100 sensor, it provides accurate and stable temperature readings. Additionally, the module indicates power supply activation (green LED) and correct data exchange (yellow LED), which facilitates diagnostics and servicing.

Configuration and communication

The transducer communicates via the RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol, ensuring compatibility with most control and monitoring systems. The ability to configure communication parameters (baud rate, data bits, stop bits, parity bits) allows the device to be adapted to specific installation requirements. Free "MB Config" software is available, which allows test reading of values and configuration of transducer parameters using a PC and a USB-RS485 converter (e.g., CN-USB-485). The device address on the MODBUS RTU network can be set in the range of 1 to 247.

Mounting and operating conditions

The device is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail and occupies a width of one module (18 mm). It can operate in an ambient temperature from -20°C to 50°C. The IP20 protection class provides protection against touch and limited protection against the ingress of solid objects. Remember to purchase the PT-100 probe separately – the dedicated probe is model RT-56 from F&F.
