The MAX-MB-DS-30 transducer is a device designed for precise temperature measurement using DS18B20 sensors connected in a 1-Wire bus. It is used to exchange data with master devices via the RS-485 interface, using the Modbus RTU communication standard. This solution is ideal for both industrial monitoring systems and applications requiring remote temperature reading.
Functionality and application
The device allows connecting up to 30 DS18B20 temperature sensors, enabling the creation of extensive measurement systems. Reading current temperature values and configuring parameters is done via the RS-485 port and the Modbus RTU protocol. Built-in LEDs indicate power and correct data exchange, facilitating diagnostics and servicing. The transducer works with 3-wire digital sensors DS18B20, DS18S20 and DS1820.
Thanks to the possibility of configuring the device address (range 1÷247) and the transmission speed (1200÷115200 bit/s), it can be easily integrated with existing automation infrastructure. A free MB Config service program is available, which simplifies the process of configuring communication parameters and sensor addressing.
Technical characteristics and benefits
The transducer operates in a temperature range from -55°C to 125°C, providing a measurement accuracy of ±0.5°C (in the range of -10÷85°C) and ±2.0°C outside this range. Power supply in the range of 9÷30 V DC provides flexibility in choosing a power source. Communication is via the RS-485 port with configurable parameters (data bits, stop bits, parity). Mounting on a 35 mm rail and compact dimensions (1 module – 18 mm) facilitate installation in control cabinets and switchgear.
