This 4-channel time counter with Modbus RTU output is a versatile device designed for precise measurement of the operating time of various devices and processes. DIN rail mounted, in a 1-module wide housing, it is ideal for both control cabinets and industrial applications requiring compact solutions. Its digital design ensures high accuracy and stability of measurements.

The counter offers a wide range of input voltage (9…30 V DC) and allows counting time up to 1314000 hours. It has a function of software resetting the counter status for each channel independently, which facilitates the maintenance of statistics and analysis. Automatic reset after reaching the maximum value (overflow) guarantees continuity of measurements even during long-term operation. Configurable counting options – low or high signal, circuit closing or opening – provide great flexibility in adapting to different types of input signals.

Functionality and communication

The MB-LG-4 module is a unidirectional time counter, where each channel operates independently, counting time according to individual settings. The result is presented both as a floating-point number and as integer values (days, hours, minutes, seconds). A key feature is the ability to read the counted values and configure parameters via the RS-485 port using the Modbus RTU communication protocol. This makes integration with SCADA systems or other higher-level devices simple and effective. Additionally, LEDs indicate the presence of power supply voltage (green) and correct data exchange (yellow Tx).

Mounting and application

The device is characterized by a protection class of IP20, which ensures its safety under normal operating conditions. DIN rail mounting is quick and convenient. The counter has inputs adapted to work with both AC/DC signals and a time filter limiting the influence of interference at the input. Power-off memory of the counter status guarantees no data loss. It can be used to monitor the operating time of machines, production equipment, ventilation systems or lighting – anywhere where precise recording of operating time is crucial for process optimization and cost control.
