Safety relay 7S.12.9.024.5110
Safety relay for demanding applications
The 7S.12.9.024.5110 relay from FINDER is a modular component designed for building safe control circuits, especially in industrial applications and machinery. Designed for reliability and safety, this forcibly guided relay meets SIL2 safety standards, providing protection against failures and malfunctions. DIN rail mounting simplifies integration with existing infrastructure.
Design and functionality
This relay is characterized by a compact design with a width of only 22.5 mm, allowing for efficient use of space in the switchgear cabinet. It has a 1NO (normally open) + 1NC (normally closed) contact configuration, providing flexibility in designing safety circuits. The power supply is DC voltage in the range of 16.8 – 30 V, and electrical connections are made using convenient spring terminals – quick to install and providing a secure connection of wires. Forced contact guidance guarantees that in the event of a short circuit or coil failure, the contacts will remain in a safe position, disconnecting the circuit and preventing dangerous situations. Monostable switching mode means the relay changes state only when the control voltage is active.
Applications and benefits
This relay finds application in a wide range of devices and systems requiring a high level of safety:
- Machine safety circuits: protection against uncontrolled movement, failures and accidents.
- Industrial automation: protection of production processes against disturbances and damage.
- Control systems: reliable operation of critical infrastructure elements.
- Applications requiring SIL2 certification: meeting safety standards for machines and equipment.
Additional advantages include:
- Flammability class V0: increased fire resistance, increasing the safety level of the installation.
- Wide range of operating voltages: ensures compatibility with various control systems.
- Protection class IP20: protection against touching with fingers and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm – suitable for most applications inside electrical switchgear cabinets.
- Mechanically linked contacts: increase the reliability of operation and minimize the risk of incorrect switching.
