Buffer tank for efficient heating and cooling

This wall-mounted buffer tank with a capacity of 80 liters is a key element of a heat pump installation, ensuring stable and efficient operation of the heating and cooling system. Its construction, based on a combination of polyurethane and a metal jacket, guarantees durability and minimizes heat loss. The tank acts as a hydraulic decoupler, which translates to a longer service life of the heat pump and the entire installation.

Construction and application

The SG(B) tank is made of black carbon steel, allowing for safe use with heating water or glycol at a pressure of up to 0.3 MPa. The tightly adhering polyurethane foam insulation minimizes heat loss, allowing the tank to be used in passive cooling systems as well. The white metal housing provides protection and further insulates the tank. This is particularly important when increasing the flow of heating medium through the heat pump exchanger and the need to provide a medium for defrosting the evaporator in air-to-water heat pumps.
