Biogas check valve – safety and reliability in gas systems

The MAG-3/DN100 check valve is an actuator of the Active Gas Installation Safety System, designed to automatically shut off the gas supply and minimize the risk of explosion. Particularly dedicated to working with biogas from landfills or wastewater treatment plants, but it will also work in low and medium pressure gas installations. Its construction allows for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, making it an ideal solution for demanding industrial environments.

Application and functionality

The MAG-3/DN100 valve has a wide range of applications in:

• Gas boiler rooms (municipal and industrial)
• Public buildings
• External gas reduction and metering stations (up to 0.5 MPa)
• Cogeneration systems in wastewater treatment plants or landfills (BIO models)
• Stationary gas detection alarm systems, protecting against gas backflow.

Thanks to its design, the valve is energy-saving – it does not require power in the open and closed position, and a short 12V= electrical pulse or manual button press is sufficient to close it. Insensitivity to loss of power supply ensures continuous system operation even in the event of a power failure. Additionally, the valve is resistant to accidental opening, which increases safety of use.

Construction and characteristic features

The valve is characterized by a simple, lightweight and reliable construction. It has a DN100 flanged connection and a set of counter-flanges included. Its dimensions (325 x 257 x 270 mm) allow for easy installation, and the small maneuvering area facilitates operation. Made of aluminum alloy, it ensures durability and corrosion resistance. The optional equipment with a valve closing sensor (MAG-3w) further increases the functionality of the device. The valve is adapted for mounting both indoors and outdoors.

The valve has ATEX certification allowing operation in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the ATEX Directive. This is particularly important in applications related to biogas and other flammable gases.
