Safety in Your Home – Propane-Butane Gas Detector DK-15
This gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of propane and butane presence in rooms where there is a risk of leakage. Its task is to quickly detect a dangerous gas concentration and warn you by activating an optical and acoustic signal. The device is particularly useful in kitchens, bathrooms, boiler rooms, and garages where LPG-powered appliances are used.
Functionality and Application
The DK-15 sensor is a reliable device that ensures the safety of you and your family. Equipped with a semiconductor sensor, it reacts to the presence of propane-butane with high precision. The alarm is triggered when exceeding 15% of the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL), meaning it reacts to gas concentrations even before they become directly dangerous. The detector can cooperate with an external alarm siren, increasing the effectiveness of warning in case of failure. This is an ideal solution for both homeowners and gas system installers.
Key Product Features
- Detected gases: Propane and butane (LPG).
- Signaling: Both optical (red LED) and acoustic (85dB).
- Power supply: 230V AC – standard mains voltage, easy to install.
- Output for external siren: Possibility to connect an additional siren to increase the alarm range.
- Replaceable sensor: Allows easy and inexpensive replacement of the measuring element after the end of its life (approx. 15 years).
- Complies with PN-EN 50194-1 standard: Guarantee of compliance with European safety standards.
- Microprocessor control: Ensures stable and precise operation of the device.
- Dimensions: Compact dimensions (85 x 140 x 55 mm) facilitate installation in various places.
Where to Mount the Detector?
To ensure the detector works correctly, it should be mounted in the appropriate place:
- Close to a potential gas leak source (e.g., gas stove, gas cylinder), but no further than 4 meters from it measured along the floor.
- On the wall, at a height of no more than 30 cm above the floor – propane-butane is heavier than air and accumulates near the floor.
- Away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and humidity.
- In a place providing free air flow.
Remember that the detector is designed to detect dangerous gas concentrations – it does not react to short-term emissions related to normal use of gas appliances. Its task is to warn against a serious leak that may pose a threat to life and health.
