Gas safety systems check valve

The MAG-3/DN32 check valve is an actuator of the Active Gas Installation Safety System of the GX type, designed to automatically shut off the gas supply in the event of an explosion hazard. It is a reliable solution for both natural gas and propane-butane installations, used in boiler rooms, public buildings, and external reduction and measurement points. MAG-3 BIO versions are also available, dedicated to working with landfill or sewage treatment plant biogas.

Construction and principle of operation

The valve is characterized by a simple and compact design, which translates into its reliability and ease of use. The valve is opened manually only, while closing is performed using a 12V= electrical impulse or by pressing the button directly on the valve body. The energy-saving design means that the valve does not require power in the open and closed positions – an electrical impulse is only needed to close it. Insensitivity to loss of power supply guarantees the continuity of operation even in the event of a power failure. Additionally, the valve is resistant to interference that could cause it to open accidentally when closed – this requires conscious intervention by the installation supervisor.

Application and special features

The MAG-3/DN32 valve is widely used in systems protecting gas installations, as well as in cogeneration systems in sewage treatment plants or landfills. Its design allows it to operate in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the requirements of the ATEX Directive – which is crucial for the safety of the installation. The standard equipment includes an opening key, two steel counter flanges, gaskets, and a complete set of screws and nuts to facilitate installation. The nominal working pressure is 0.5 MPa, and the connection diameter is DN32 (complete set of DN32 counter flanges), with a valve diameter of DN50. Small maneuvering range and low force required to open the valve make it easy to operate even in difficult conditions. Optionally, the valve can be equipped with a closing sensor (MAG-3w designation).
