Check valve for gas safety systems

The MAG-3/DN40 check valve is an actuator of the GX Gas Installation Active Safety System, designed to automatically shut off the gas supply in the event of an explosion hazard. It is a reliable solution for both natural gas and propane-butane installations. A BIO version is also available, dedicated to working with biogas from landfills or sewage treatment plants.

This valve is widely used in safety systems for gas installations in boiler rooms, public buildings, and external gas reduction and metering stations (up to a working pressure of 0.5 MPa). It will also be useful in cogeneration systems in sewage treatment plants or landfills.

Design and operating principle

The MAG-3/DN40 valve is characterized by a simple and compact design, which translates into its reliability and ease of use. The valve opens manually only, while closing can be done impulsively electrically (12V=) or using a button on the housing. This solution ensures energy saving – the valve does not require power in the open or closed position, and an electrical impulse is only needed to close it.

Insensitivity to power failure is an important advantage – lack of power does not affect the flow of gas through the valve. Additionally, the design provides resistance to interference that could cause the valve to open accidentally when closed – opening is only possible through the conscious action of the installation supervisor.

The set with the valve includes: an opening key, two steel counter flanges, gaskets, and a set of screws, washers, and nuts – everything necessary for correct installation.

Safety and compliance with standards

The MAG-3/DN40 valve has been designed with safety in mind and meets the requirements of the ATEX Directive, allowing its use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Its solid construction guarantees a long service life and reliable operation for a long time. The nominal working pressure is 0.5 MPa and the connection diameter is DN40 (complete DN40 counter flanges).
