Gas detector DEX-71/N – reliable safety in detecting hydrogen and acetylene
The DEX-71/N gas detector is an advanced device designed for continuous monitoring of hydrogen and acetylene presence in the air. Equipped with a semiconductor sensor, the detector provides fast and precise detection, which is crucial for ensuring safety in potentially hazardous environments. The device finds application both in industrial installations, laboratories, and in residential spaces where there is a risk of leakage of these gases. The explosion-proof design allows the detector to be used even in potentially explosive zones.
Application and functionality
DEX-71/N is designed to work in alarm systems, signaling the exceeding of permissible gas concentration limits through two-state threshold outputs. It can cooperate with various GAZEX control modules, such as MD-1.A/T, MD-1, MD-2, MD-4, MDP-1.A/T, MDP-1 PLUS, MDP-4, MDP-8, MDP-16 and addressable modules MDD-1, MDD-1/T and MDD-1x/T. The detector is particularly useful in places where hydrogen occurs (e.g. battery rooms) and acetylene (e.g. welding workshops). It detects acetylene and hydrogen concentrations in the range of 10/30% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL).
Construction and durability
The detector housing made of nickel-plated brass provides high resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage. The device has a protection class of IP65/IP6X, which guarantees its tightness and resistance to dust and water ingress. The detector meets the requirements of Directive ATEX 2014/34/UE, which confirms its safety of use in a potentially explosive atmosphere. F4-C execution ensures reliable operation even in harsh industrial conditions. Compact dimensions (105 x 103 x 54 mm) facilitate installation in various locations.
Key product features:
- Detection of two gases: One device monitors the presence of both hydrogen (H2) and acetylene (C2H2).
- Explosion-proof design: Ensures safe operation in potentially explosive zones (Ex db IIB T4 Gb).
- High sensitivity: Semiconductor sensor guarantees precise detection even at low gas concentrations.
- Versatility: Possibility of cooperation with various GAZEX control modules facilitates integration with existing alarm systems.
- Durable housing: Nickel-plated brass housing provides resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage.
- Compliance with standards: Meets the requirements of Directive ATEX 2014/34/UE.
- Replaceable sensor: Allows easy sensor replacement without the need for calibration on site – reduces operating costs.
Installation and servicing
The detector installation is simple and intuitive thanks to the modular design and lack of the need for calibration on site. All GAZEX detectors are calibrated in their own Accredited Calibration Laboratory according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (PCA accreditation no. AP150), which guarantees measurement accuracy. Regular inspections and sensor replacement (according to the manufacturer's recommendations) ensure long-term and reliable operation of the device.
