Reducing threaded nipple made of stainless steel
This reducing threaded nipple, made of stainless steel, is used to connect pipes of different diameters with BSPT thread. It is a key element in installations requiring precise diameter matching and ensuring a leak-proof connection. This nipple is particularly useful in systems where it is necessary to transition from a 1 1/2 inch pipe to a 1 1/4 inch pipe.
Material and application
Made of high-quality stainless steel AISI 316L (1.4408, 1.4404), this nipple is characterized by exceptional corrosion resistance and resistance to aggressive chemicals. This makes it ideally suited for use in:
- water installations, including those intended for drinking water,
- heating systems,
- industrial chemical installations,
- sanitary installations.
It can effectively replace traditional brass fittings, offering significantly longer life and reliability. The marking "g316" or "g6" on the product confirms the use of high-quality stainless steel.
Operating parameters and safety
This nipple is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures and pressures:
- maximum operating temperature: 220°C
- maximum working pressure: approximately 10.5 bar (150 lbs)
High resistance to corrosion and corrosive substances (acids) guarantees safe and long-lasting operation even in harsh environmental conditions. The BSPT tapered thread ensures a tight connection without the need for additional sealants – only the appropriate tightening torque is required.
