Overcurrent switch for safe and fast installation

This single-pole overcurrent switch from Hager's QuickConnect series is a reliable protection for electrical installations. Designed to protect circuits with a rated current of 32A, it features a high short-circuit breaking capacity – up to 6 kA at 230V. The C characteristic design provides effective protection against overloads and short circuits, and the QuickConnect system significantly speeds up installation and removal, eliminating the need to screw wires.

Functionality and technical parameters

The switch is designed for ease of use by both professional installers and end users. Its compact dimensions (83.4 x 17.5 x 70 mm) and 1 module width allow for efficient use of space in the distribution box. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 500V, and the rated operating voltage Ue is 230-400V AC. The switch operates in the frequency range of 50-60 Hz and is adapted for mounting on a DIN rail.

The switch provides an effective response in the event of a short circuit – its short-circuit breaking capacity is 6 kA at 230 V AC and 10 kA according to IEC 60947-2. Characteristic C means a delayed response to overvoltage, which is particularly important when protecting circuits with receivers with high inrush current, e.g. motors or transformers. The QuickConnect system enables quick and easy connection of wires without tools – simply plug the wire into the appropriate terminal. The switch is adapted to work in a wide temperature range, from -25°C to +70°C, which makes it suitable for various environmental conditions. It is possible to connect solid wires with a cross-section of 1-35 mm² and stranded wires with a cross-section of 1-25 mm².

Installation comfort and safety

The QuickConnect system is not only a time saver, but also increases the safety of the installation. Constant spring tension of the connections ensures a secure contact and minimizes the risk of wires loosening. In addition, the switch has a protection degree of IP20, which protects against accidental contact. The rear BiConnect terminal with screw connection protects against incorrect wire connection, and the front BiConnect terminal with QuickConnect plug-in system enables quick and safe connection to the phase busbar. A transparent flap protects the labels from damage.
