Rotary scraper for PE pipes – precision and durability of connections
This tool is designed for the effective preparation of polyethylene pipes (PE, PE-HD, PE100) before electrofusion welding. Its main task is to remove the oxidized outer layer that forms under the influence of UV radiation and oxidation. Removing this layer is crucial to ensure the tightness and durability of the connection. The scraper is suitable for pipe diameters from DN63 to DN400 (63 – 400 mm).
Preparation for welding – why is it important?
The outer layer of the PE pipe degrades under the influence of atmospheric factors. The oxidized surface negatively affects the weld quality, so its precise removal is essential. This scraper is designed to make this process quick and accurate, saving time and minimizing the risk of errors.
- Effectiveness: Removes the oxidized outer layer of the pipe, preparing it for welding.
- Precision: Ensures uniform surface machining, which translates to connection quality.
- Versatility: Suitable for PE pipes of various diameters – from DN63 to DN400.
- Durability: The blade made of tungsten carbide guarantees a long service life of the tool and efficient operation.
- Cutting depth control: Allows precise control of the machining process – the cutting depth is 0.2 mm per revolution, and the blade working range reaches 25 mm.
Construction and how to use
The scraper is characterized by a solid construction and ergonomic design, which facilitates work even in difficult conditions. The set includes a carrying case for easy storage and transport of the tool (dimensions: 470 x 240 x 170 mm). The weight of the scraper is 6 kg.
To achieve optimal results:
- Adjust the tool to the pipe diameter.
- Mount the scraper on the pipe and start rotating it around it, making full rotations with even pressure.
- Control the resulting chips – they should be continuous, which indicates a correct machining process.
- Repeat the process if necessary to obtain a perfectly even surface.
- Securely lock the scraper on the pipe during operation.
