Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This specialized cable, catalog number 19813, is an excellent solution for applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. The HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX® 109 cable is designed to operate in harsh conditions, such as chain guide systems, marine installations, or industrial environments with oil exposure. Its construction ensures reliable operation even with intense bending and twisting.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction that guarantees long-term operation. It consists of four copper conductors with a cross-section of 4 mm², which provides adequate current carrying capacity. The conductors are insulated with a special material, and the entire cable has a screen made of copper braid, which minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC). The polyurethane outer jacket provides resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in case of fire.
- Conductors: Multi-wire, very flexible (class 6), made of unannealed copper – provide high mechanical strength and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending.
- Insulation: Special conductor insulation provides high electrical and dielectric resistance.
- Screen: Braid of tinned copper wires effectively suppresses electromagnetic interference, protecting sensitive devices.
- Outer jacket: Polyurethane (PUR) jacket provides resistance to abrasion, oils, chemicals and UV radiation – ideal for use in harsh industrial environments.
- Halogen-free: Meets DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 standards – important for fire safety and environmental protection.
- Approximate outer diameter: 13.4 mm – facilitates the selection of appropriate connectors and accessories.
Applications and compliance with standards
This cable finds application in a wide range of industrial applications, including:
- Chain guide systems in machines and equipment
- Marine and offshore installations
- Robotics and industrial automation
- Devices exposed to contact with oils and chemicals
- Applications requiring high resistance to electromagnetic interference
Complies with UL Style 20234 standards and has certificates confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive CE (2014/35/EU). The cable is also resistant to radiation up to 100x10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad) and retains its properties at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (flexible) and -40°C to +80°C (stationary). The minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces.
