Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This specialized, shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable is designed for applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. It is ideal for chain guide systems, especially in marine and industrial environments where it is exposed to oils, UV radiation and extreme temperatures. The cable construction ensures reliable operation even in the most demanding applications.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction using high-quality materials. Stranded copper conductors according to DIN VDE 0295 cl.6, BS 6360 cl.6 and IEC 60228 cl.6 standards provide excellent conductivity and flexibility. The conductors are insulated with a special material and marked with numbers for easy identification. Additionally, the presence of a protective conductor (yellow-green) increases safety. A screen made of tinned copper wires (optionally aluminum and foil) minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in precise control systems. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyurethane (PUR) coating, resistant to abrasion, oils and UV radiation.
The cable meets strict safety and environmental protection standards: it is flame retardant (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2/ IEC 60332-1) and halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482 part 267/ DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1). Additionally, it is resistant to weathering, ozone and UV radiation – guaranteeing long-lasting and trouble-free operation in various environmental conditions.
Key features and applications
- Durable construction: stranded copper conductors and a solid PUR coating provide high mechanical and chemical resistance.
- Shielding: a braid of tinned copper wires reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Safety: compliance with standards regarding flame retardancy and halogen-free materials increases safety in the event of a fire.
- Flexibility: the cable retains its properties even with repeated bending, which is important in chain guide systems.
- Resistance to external conditions: designed to operate in a wide temperature range (-40°C to +80°C) and in environments exposed to oils and UV radiation.
- Application: ideal for chain guide systems in industries such as: marine industry, industrial automation, robotics and anywhere requiring high reliability and resistance to external factors.
- Conductor cross-section: 95 mm², allowing for the transmission of significant electric currents.
- Number of conductors: 4 conductors allow for the transmission of control signals and power supply to devices.
- Outer diameter: approximately 48 mm – this should be taken into account when selecting appropriate connectors and cable glands.
