Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This specialized, shielded HELUKABEL® SHIPFLEX® 113 cable is designed for applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. It is ideal for marine, industrial applications and anywhere it is exposed to intense mechanical loads, oils, UV radiation and extreme temperatures. The cable construction ensures reliable operation even in the most demanding conditions.
Construction and properties
The SHIPFLEX® 113 cable features an advanced construction that guarantees its durability and safety. It consists of class 6 stranded copper conductors, providing high flexibility. The conductors are insulated with a special material and have an identification imprint (U1, V2, W3), which facilitates installation and servicing. In addition, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor and a black control conductor with numbering. The screen made of tinned copper wires protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC), and the outer polyurethane coating (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. The whole is wrapped in an aluminum foil for additional protection. The cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
- Durable construction: Class 6 stranded copper conductors provide high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending.
- EMC shielding: Braid of tinned copper wires minimizes electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Resistance to external factors: Outer polyurethane coating (PUR) protects against oils, chemicals, UV radiation and mechanical damage.
- Safety: Halogen-free coating reduces the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (flexibly and stationary).
- Application in harsh conditions: Ideal for use in industrial, marine environments and anywhere high resistance to mechanical and chemical loads is required.
Applications and compliance with standards
The SHIPFLEX® 113 cable is primarily used in chain cable management systems, but also in other applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. It meets stringent safety and quality standards:
- Compliance with standards: DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (flammability test), DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 (halogen-free), IEC 60092-350 (oil resistance).
- Marine applications: Specifically designed to operate in the harsh conditions prevailing at sea.
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC): Ensures minimization of electromagnetic interference thanks to shielding with a copper braid – for optimal functionality, it is recommended to use a large round screen clamp at both ends of the cable.
- CE certificate: The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
The conductor cross-section is 50 mm², and the approximate outer diameter is 37 mm. The orange color (RAL 2003) makes it easy to identify the cable in the installation. The cable is metered for convenient installation and adaptation to user needs.
