Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This shielded chain cable HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 340 is a solution designed for applications in harsh industrial conditions, especially where high mechanical and chemical resistance is required. Made of high-quality materials, this cable provides a reliable connection in chain guide systems, as well as in marine applications. Its construction guarantees long-lasting and safe operation even in extreme environments.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by an advanced construction that combines strength and flexibility. Made of copper strand twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 cl.6, BS 6360 cl.6 and IEC 60228 cl.6, it provides excellent electrical conductivity. The cores are insulated with a special material and colored according to DIN 47100 for easy identification. Twisted core pairs minimize electromagnetic interference. Additionally, a screen made of tinned copper wires (approx. 85% coverage) effectively protects against external interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyurethane (PUR) coating, resistant to oils, UV radiation and low temperatures – even down to -40°C. The cable meets safety standards regarding fire resistance (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2/ IEC 60332-1) and halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482 part 267/ DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1).
- Durable construction: twisted copper strand meeting strict European standards.
- Flexibility: core class 6 provides high flexibility, ideal for dynamic applications in chain guides.
- Shielding: protection against electromagnetic interference thanks to a screen of tinned copper wires.
- Chemical resistance: PUR coating resistant to oils and other aggressive chemicals.
- Safety: compliance with fire resistance and halogen-free standards increases safety.
- Wide temperature range: possibility of operation at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
Applications and parameters
The SHIPFLEX® 340 cable is ideal for applications in industries such as: marine industry, industrial automation, robotics and everywhere where high reliability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions are required. Its construction allows it to be used in chain guide systems and in applications exposed to high mechanical and chemical loads. This cable is metered, which makes it easy to install and adapt to specific installation needs. The nominal core cross-section is 0.34 mm², and the approximate outer diameter is 14.4 mm – which allows for easy cable routing in tight spaces. The cable has as many as 36 cores, making it an ideal solution for complex control and power systems. The rated voltage U is 500V and UL is as much as 1000V, which guarantees safety.
