Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 340 chain cable is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially in applications with chain guides. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, guaranteeing long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It is an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users looking for a reliable solution.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, using stranded copper wire (class 6) providing high flexibility. The cores are insulated with a special material and colored according to DIN 47100, which facilitates identification. Twisted core pairs and an interlayered braid increase resistance to mechanical interference. A key element is a screen made of tinned copper wires (approx. 85% coverage), which minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyurethane (PUR) coating, providing resistance to oils, UV radiation and extreme temperatures.
It is worth noting a number of certificates and compliance with standards, such as UL Style 20234, DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1, confirming the safety and high quality of the product. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free (according to DIN VDE 0482 part 267/ DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1), which increases safety in the event of a fire.
Applications and benefits
The SHIPFLEX 340 cable has been designed for use in harsh conditions, such as:
- Marine industry: thanks to its high resistance to weather conditions and salt water.
- Industrial automation: in systems with chain guides, where high flexibility and resistance to bending are required.
- Robotics: ideal for powering and controlling robots operating in harsh environments.
- Construction and agricultural machinery: where exposure to oils, greases and UV radiation is particularly high.
The main benefits of using this cable are:
- High reliability: thanks to the solid construction and high-quality materials.
- Resistance to external factors: oils, UV radiation, extreme temperatures (-40°C to +80°C).
- Protection against interference: shielding minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference (EMC).
- Safety: the absence of halogen in the insulation reduces the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire.
- Long service life: thanks to the use of durable materials and careful construction.
Additional information: the cable is metered, and its approximate outer diameter is 16.5 mm. The nominal core cross-section is 0.34 mm², and the nominal voltage U is 500 V (UL 1000V). Please remember that AWG sizes are approximate – the exact cross-section is given in mm².
