Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 340 chain cable is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially where there are high mechanical loads and exposure to external factors. This cable is characterized by high flexibility, oil resistance and a wide operating temperature range. It is ideal for use in chain guide systems, but will also work well in other applications requiring a reliable electrical connection.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of high-quality materials, which guarantees its durability and resistance to damage. Copper strands, twisted into strands of class 6 (according to DIN VDE 0295), provide excellent flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending. The strands are insulated with a special material and colored according to DIN 47100 for easy identification. A screen made of tinned copper wires (with the option of an additional aluminum foil) minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in applications sensitive to noise. The polyurethane outer jacket (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils, chemicals and extreme temperatures.
In addition, the cable meets strict safety standards: it is flame-retardant (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1) and halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1), which increases safety in the event of a fire. It is also resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions.
Applications and benefits
This cable is primarily used in:
- Chain guide systems: ideal for powering mobile devices in machines and robots.
- Marine industry: thanks to its resistance to environmental factors and compliance with strict standards, it is suitable for marine applications.
- Applications requiring high flexibility: where the cable is exposed to frequent bending and movements.
- Industrial environments: where oils, chemicals and high temperatures are present.
Thanks to its properties, the SHIPFLEX 340 cable provides:
- Long service life: thanks to its durable construction and resistance to mechanical damage.
- Safety: thanks to its flame retardancy and lack of halogen in the coating.
- Reliable connection: thanks to shielding that minimizes electromagnetic interference.
- Easy installation: thanks to the flexibility of the cable and clear identification of the strands.
- Resistance to extreme conditions: thanks to resistance to oils, chemicals, UV radiation and a wide temperature range (-40°C to +80°C).
The strand cross-section is 0.34 mm², and the outer diameter is approximately 7.4 mm – these parameters ensure optimal compatibility with most standard connectors and accessories. The UL rated voltage is 1000V and the minimum insulation resistance is as high as 100 MOhm x km, which proves the high quality of the cable.
