Cable for potentially explosive atmospheres OZ-BL 30x0.75 mm² blue, black numbered cores acc. to DIN VDE 0293-334 14008
Flexible cable for potentially explosive atmospheres
This blue OZ-BL cable, with a cross-section of 30x0.75 mm², is designed for use in places with an increased risk of explosion. Its flexible construction makes it ideal for control and measuring installations in control technology, especially in intrinsically safe systems. This cable is intended for unearthed installations with a separate electrical circuit and should not be laid directly in the ground.
Construction and properties
The cable is distinguished by its careful construction, ensuring reliability and safety. It is made of 30 flexible, stranded copper conductors class 5, insulated with PVC type Z 7225. The conductors are twisted in layers for optimal pitch. The outer sheath made of PVC (type TM2) in blue (RAL 5015) provides additional protection against external factors.
It is worth noting its resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions – which makes it a good choice for outdoor applications. The materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free and do not contain substances that hinder painting. Additionally, the cable has passed tests confirming resistance to vertical flame propagation (IEC 60332-1-2) and to UV and atmospheric influences (DIN EN ISO 4892-2).
Technical parameters and application
The cable has a rated voltage of 500 V and is designed to operate in a temperature range of -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -15°C to +80°C (flexible). Its outer diameter is approximately 15.3 mm. The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 regarding PVC cables for intrinsically safe installations. It is compliant with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
Thanks to the blue coating, it is intended for intrinsically safe systems of type -i- in potentially explosive areas, in accordance with DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 (Section 16.2.2). Please remember that AWG sizes are given for guidance only – the exact cross-section is 0.75 mm². The minimum bending radius is 7.5x the cable diameter for flexible operation and 4x the cable diameter for fixed installation.
