Flexible cable for potentially explosive atmospheres

This blue OZ-BL 30x1.5 cable is a flexible solution for use in areas at risk of explosion. The control and measuring cable is designed for intrinsically safe installations in control and measurement technology, where reliability and safety are required. Designed for unearthed installations with a separate electrical circuit, it is not suitable for direct laying in the ground.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-lasting and safe operation. It is made of flexible, multi-wire copper conductors of class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228), insulated with PVC type Z 7225. The strands are twisted in layers, which ensures optimal pitch. The outer sheath made of PVC (type TM2 according to DIN VDE 0207-363-4-1 / DIN EN 50363-4-1) in blue color (RAL 5015) provides additional protection against external factors. The cable is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions, and also exhibits high resistance to oils. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances hindering painting.

Operating parameters and compliance with standards

The OZ-BL 30x1.5 cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +80°C in stationary mode and from -15°C to +80°C during flexible operation. The rated voltage is 500V (300/500V AC U0/U). The conductor cross-section is 1.5 mm², and the outer diameter of the cable is approximately 18.6 mm. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and the standards DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 regarding PVC cables for intrinsically safe installations. It also has a VDE-Reg.-No. 7032 certificate and meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 regarding flame propagation resistance. It is intended for intrinsically safe systems of type -i-, according to DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 (Section 16.2.2).
