Shielded control cable – reliable signal transmission
This flexible Y-CY-JB 4G4 cable with a 4 mm² cross-section is an ideal solution for applications in control, regulation technology and in mechanical engineering. The use of a copper braid screen provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference, guaranteeing stable signal and pulse transmission. The cable is particularly useful in electronics, where high signal quality is required.
The cable is characterized by high flexibility, which allows its use in motion with medium mechanical stress and slow operation. Made of high-quality materials, such as PVC insulation and stranded copper wire, it ensures durability and reliability even in harsh conditions. A transparent outer coating makes it easy to identify the cores.
Construction and properties
The cable construction is designed for optimal performance and safety:
- Cores: Stranded copper (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295), which ensures flexibility and resistance to bending.
- Insulation: Made of PVC Z 7225, resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage. Cores are color-coded for easy identification.
- Screen: Braid of tinned copper wires (coverage approx. 85%) minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC). For optimal EMC protection, it is recommended to have a two-sided contact of the braid with the clamps.
- Outer jacket: Transparent PVC protects the cores from external factors and facilitates visual inspection of the cable condition.
- Protective conductor: Available in a version with a yellow-green protective conductor (G) or without it (x).
The cable is resistant to oils and many chemicals, which expands its range of applications. The materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting. Complies with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).

- Rated voltage: 450/750 V (depending on the cross-section).
- Temperature range: -40°C to +80°C (fixed installation), -15°C to +80°C (flexible operation).
- Minimum bending radius: 10 x outer diameter (flexible operation), 5 x outer diameter (fixed installation).
- Outer diameter: approx. 15.7 mm.
- Insulation resistance: min. 20 MOhm x km.
- Capacitance: dependent on the wire cross-section – core/core approx. 150 nF/km; core/screen approx. 270 nF/km for cross-sections from 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm².
