Robust cable for extreme conditions – HELUFLON-FEP-6Y

This 25-core HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable is a specialized solution designed for operation in demanding environments. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal choice for industrial applications, as well as in installations where standard cables fail. This cable is particularly valued in the construction of switchgear cabinets, furnaces, heating devices and in the chemical industry.

Construction and properties

The cable is constructed of stranded copper conductors insulated with FEP fluoropolymer (HELUFLON®). The conductors are twisted in parallel and surrounded by an outer jacket of FEP-HELUFLON®, providing additional protection. The jacket color is black (RAL 9005). Thanks to the materials used, the cable exhibits excellent dielectric properties and high resistance to mechanical damage. It is flame retardant, resistant to microorganisms and completely waterproof. Water absorption is minimal – below 0.01%.

• Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in the range of -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C). This is crucial in applications exposed to extreme temperatures.
• Chemical resistance: It can be used without worry in chemically aggressive environments – it is resistant to alkalis, acids, oils and gasoline.
• High insulation: Ensures safe and reliable operation of the electrical installation.
• Radiation resistance: The cable is resistant to radiation up to 1 x 106 cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
• Flexibility: Conductor class 5 (multi-wire flexible) ensures easy installation and cable routing.
• Compliance with standards: The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).

Applications and parameters

The HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² and an outer diameter of approximately 14 mm is perfect for applications where reliability and safety are required in difficult conditions. The rated voltage is 600 V, and the test voltage is as high as 2500 V. The minimum bending radius is 15 x cable diameter for flexible routing and 4 x cable diameter for stationary mounting. The cable is available with a yellow-green protective conductor (marked "G") or without it (marked "x").
