Multi-core cable FEP-HELUFLON-6Y – reliability in extreme conditions

This 600 V multi-core cable, designated HELUFLON-FEP-6Y, is an advanced solution for applications requiring high resistance to temperature, chemicals and harsh environmental conditions. Made of high-quality materials, it ensures reliable operation in a wide range of industrial and specialized applications. The cable is characterized by flexibility and durability, which facilitates installation and ensures long-term operation.

Construction and properties

The cable construction is based on twisted copper strands, available in class 5 (multi-strand flexible), which ensures flexibility and resistance to material fatigue. Each strand is insulated with high-quality FEP-HELUFLON® material, which guarantees excellent electrical properties and chemical resistance. The strands are twisted in parallel, and the whole is surrounded by an outer jacket made of FEP-HELUFLON® in black (RAL 9005). This makes the cable completely resistant to ozone, water and microorganisms – it does not promote the development of fungi. Additionally, the materials used in production do not contain silicone or cadmium, making it safe for the environment and painting processes.

This cable also features high insulation resistance (min. 2 GOhm/km) and low dielectric losses. This is particularly important in applications requiring precise signal transmission. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).

Applications and parameters

The HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable is primarily used in installations and construction of switchboard cabinets operating in extreme thermal conditions – from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C). It will perform perfectly in furnaces, brickworks, heating and kitchen appliances, and measuring devices. Due to its chemical resistance, it is ideal for use in the chemical industry, where it is exposed to contact with flames, alkalis, acids, food, oils and gasoline.

This cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 600 V, a rated strand cross-section of 1 mm², and a number of strands of 5. Its approximate outer diameter is 5.5 mm, the permissible ambient temperature during installation is -100 °C to +205 °C, and the color of the jacket/insulation is black. Strand identification is done by color. The minimum bending radius (flexible) is 15 x Ø cable, and (stationary) 4 x Ø cable.
