Highly durable cable for extreme conditions – HELUFLON-FEP-6Y
This 5-core HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² is a solution for demanding applications where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to temperature, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users who need reliable power in harsh conditions. The cable has an outer jacket made of FEP-HELUFLON®, which further increases its durability and safety.
Construction and properties for demanding applications
The cable construction is based on twisted copper cores, available in tinned or silver-plated versions, which affects the permissible operating temperature. Insulation made of fluoropolymer FEP-HELUFLON® provides excellent dielectric properties and chemical resistance. The cores are twisted in parallel, and the whole is surrounded by a black jacket made of the same material (RAL 9005). This makes the cable not only mechanically resistant but also resistant to the action of ozone, moisture and the development of fungi and microorganisms. In addition, the materials used in production do not contain silicone or cadmium, which is important from the point of view of environmental protection and safety.
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable is widely used in industrial installations, construction of switchgear cabinets and wherever extreme temperature conditions occur (from -100°C to +205°C, briefly up to +230°C). It will be useful in furnaces, brick factories, heating devices, kitchen appliances and in the chemical industry – thanks to its resistance to flames, alkalis, acids, oils and gasoline. The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and has passed tests confirming its self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1). The minimum bending radius is 4x cable diameter for stationary installation and 15x cable diameter for flexible installation.
