Extreme applications multi-core cable
This black, 18-core HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable with a voltage rating of 600 V is a solution for installations requiring reliability in harsh conditions. The cable is characterized by its flexibility and resistance to external factors, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users.
Construction and properties
The HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable features an advanced construction. Its copper cores, available in tinned or silver-plated versions, are twisted according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 standards. Insulation made of FEP-HELUFLON® provides excellent dielectric properties and chemical resistance. In addition, the outer jacket made of the same material protects the cable from mechanical damage and weathering.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in the range of -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C), allowing it to be used in extreme conditions.
- Chemical resistance: FEP-HELUFLON® material is resistant to oils, gasoline, acids, alkalis and food products – ideal for use in the chemical and food industries.
- High insulation: Insulation resistance at the level of min. 2 GOhm/km guarantees safe use and minimizes the risk of short circuits.
- Low water permeability: Thanks to minimal water permeability (approx. 0.18 mg/cm² in 24 hours), the cable works perfectly in humid environments.
- Radiation resistance: The cable is resistant to radiation up to 1 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad).
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUFLON-FEP-6Y cable finds wide application in industrial installations, construction of switchgear cabinets and wherever high resistance to temperature and chemicals is required. It will work in furnaces, brick factories, heating and kitchen appliances, and measuring devices. It is also an ideal solution for the chemical industry due to its resistance to aggressive substances.
The cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and standards DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 regarding fire resistance. Additionally, it is silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance free.
