This blue, shielded OZ-BL-CY 18x2.5 cable is designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres where high flexibility and reliability are required. It is an ideal solution for control and measurement installations in control and measurement technology, especially in intrinsically safe systems. This cable is characterized by high resistance to external factors and provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference.
Construction and properties
This cable stands out with its careful construction, which guarantees its durability and safety. Made of multi-wire copper conductors class 5 (DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228) insulated with PVC type Z 7225, it provides good conductivity and flexibility. Twisted strands minimize the risk of interference. In addition, a copper braid screen with a coverage density of approx. 85% effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The PVC jacket (DIN VDE 0207-363-4-1 / DIN EN 50363-4-1 type TM2) in blue color (RAL 5015) provides resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions. Importantly, the materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances hindering painting.
Operating parameters and compliance with standards
This cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +80°C in fixed installation and from -10°C to +80°C in flexible operation. The cable has a rated voltage of AC 300/500V and meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 standards for PVC cables for intrinsically safe installations. It is compliant with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and intended for intrinsically safe systems of type -i- in hazardous areas (DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14). The minimum bending radius is 10x cable diameter in flexible operation and 5x cable diameter in fixed installation. The mutual capacitance conductor/conductor is approximately 140 pF/m, and conductor/screen approximately 187 pF/m at a frequency of 800 Hz.
