Flexible cable for EX zones – safety and reliability in harsh conditions

This blue, shielded OZ-BL-CY 3x2.5 cable is a solution dedicated to working in areas at risk of explosion. The cable is designed for use in control and measurement installations where resistance to interference and maintaining parameters in demanding conditions are key. Thanks to the copper braid screen, electromagnetic interference (EMC) is minimized, which translates to stable system operation.

Construction and properties ensuring long-term operation

The cable is characterized by a flexible construction with multi-wire copper cores, which facilitates installation and routing of cables even in tight spaces. PVC insulation type Z 7225 provides good protection against mechanical damage and the effects of atmospheric factors. Additionally, the outer PVC coating (type TM2) in blue (RAL 5015) is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions, allowing the cable to be used both indoors and outdoors. Importantly, the materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances hindering painting.

Applications and compliance with standards

The OZ-BL-CY 3x2.5 cable finds application in intrinsically safe installations in accordance with DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 (Section 16.2.2) and has VDE-Reg.-No. 7032 certification. It is ideal for type -i- systems where high reliability and safety are required. It should be remembered that the cable is not intended for direct burial in the ground. The electrical parameters of the cable include operating voltage AC 300/500V and a temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -10°C to +80°C (flexible). The minimum bending radius is 5x the cable diameter for fixed laying and 10x the diameter for flexible operation.
