Flexible cable for EX zones – reliable protection and flexibility

This blue, shielded cable OZ-BL-CY 7x2.5 with a voltage of 500V is a solution dedicated to working in demanding conditions, especially in areas at risk of explosion. Designed for both professional installers and end-users, it provides safety and reliability in control and measurement installations. This cable is ideal where flexibility and protection against electromagnetic interference are needed.

Construction and properties ensuring safety

The cable is made of high-quality materials, guaranteeing its durability and resistance to external factors. Multi-wire, flexible copper conductors class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228) ensure good conductivity and easy installation. PVC insulation type Z 7225 and a copper braid screen protect against interference and ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). It is worth noting the optimization of EMC by ensuring a wide, bilateral contact of the copper braid with the terminals – e.g. cable glands. Additionally, the cable is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions, allowing its use in outdoor installations. The PVC coating (type TM2) in blue (RAL 5015) provides additional mechanical protection and identification of the cable in intrinsically safe systems.

Application and compliance with standards

The OZ-BL-CY 7x2.5 cable is intended for intrinsically safe installations (type -i-) in potentially explosive areas in accordance with DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 (Section 16.2.2). It will work in areas at risk of explosion as a flexible control and measuring cable. It is not suitable for laying in the ground. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and VDE-Reg.-No. 7032. The PVC cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51. The operating temperature range is from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -10°C to +80°C (flexible). The operating voltage AC U0/U is 300/500V, and the test voltage conductor/conductor is 3000V. The minimum bending radius is 5x cable diameter for fixed laying and 10x cable diameter for flexible operation.
