Construction and properties

The UNIPUR cable stands out with a construction that provides exceptional flexibility even at low temperatures – down to -40°C. Copper strands are twisted in accordance with DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 standards, guaranteeing their mechanical and electrical strength. Insulation made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) provides excellent dielectric properties and resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage. The outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR) additionally protects the cable from external factors such as oils, greases, water and UV radiation.

This cable is also characterized by high radiation resistance of 100x10⁶ cJ/kg (100 Mrad), making it suitable for use in environments exposed to radiation. The minimum bending radius is 10x cable diameter for flexible bending and 5x cable diameter for stationary bending. The rated voltage U/U0 is 500/300 kV respectively.
