Flexible cable for demanding applications

This metered flexible cable, designated M.SPEED 500-C-TPE 2x0.5, is designed for applications where reliability and resistance to harsh conditions are paramount. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and durability, making it an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users. It features a braided shield to ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Construction and properties

The cable is constructed with un-tinned copper strands twisted to ensure optimal flexibility. The strands are insulated with special TPE, and their black color with white printing facilitates identification. Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (in versions with a protective conductor). The whole is surrounded by a special inner TPE jacket and an outer TPE-O jacket in navy blue (RAL 5020). A braided shield made of tinned copper wires provides effective suppression of electromagnetic interference.

This cable stands out with a number of features affecting its longevity and reliability: resistance to microbes, variable bending forces, abrasion and impact at low temperatures. It is also resistant to oils, tearing and chemical factors, UV and ozone. The materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and lacquer-disrupting substance-free.

Applications and technical parameters

The M.SPEED 500-C-TPE 2x0.5 cable is used wherever high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. It will work in machines exposed to high mechanical stress, in wet, damp and dry rooms and outdoors with slow cable movement. It is an ideal choice for cable trays over long distances and at high speeds. Thanks to the tinned conductive strand, the cable is suitable for installation in extreme environments containing hydrogen sulfide, ammonia or sulfur dioxide.

The cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 500 V and a rated strand cross-section of 0.5 mm². It has two working strands and is made of TPE-O as the outer jacket material. Its outer diameter is 6.5 mm, and the operating temperature range (flexible) is from -30°C to +80°C, while the operating temperature range (stationary) is from -40°C to +80°C. The shield is a copper braid and the radiation resistance is up to 100 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad).
