Data cable RD-Y(St)Y – reliability and signal protection

This shielded PVC cable, designated as RD-Y(St)Y 4x2x0.5 mm², is a solid solution for data transmission in control, measurement and regulation installations. The cable is particularly recommended for use indoors, where protection against electromagnetic interference is required. The construction with twisted pairs of wires ensures stable signal transmission, both analog and digital.

Construction and properties

The cable is distinguished by a careful construction, designed for durability and efficiency. It uses multi-strand copper wires with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², which provides flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage. The wires are insulated with PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and then twisted in pairs – this technique minimizes interference and improves signal quality. Four twisted pairs are bundled together, which is additionally protected by a screen of aluminum foil coated with plastic. The outer jacket made of PVC provides protection against external factors.

It is worth noting the operating temperature range of the cable: from -40°C to +70°C during permanent installation and from -5°C to +50°C during assembly. This makes the cable suitable for various environmental conditions. Fire reaction class Eca guarantees a basic level of fire safety.
