This shielded MEGAFLEX 500-C 2x1 mm² halogen-free cable is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users looking for a reliable and safe solution in electrical installations. The cable is designed for a wide range of applications, from the construction of machines and equipment, through air conditioning systems, ship structures, to renewable energy sources. Its construction provides high flexibility and resistance to external factors.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction using high-quality materials. Multi-strand, flexible copper conductors (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295) ensure good conductivity and easy installation. The insulation made of a special halogen-free polymer guarantees safety in the event of a fire – it limits the release of toxic gases and smoke (compliant with IEC 60332-1-2). A braided screen made of tinned copper wires (85% coverage) minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is particularly important in sensitive applications. This braid should have good contact with the terminals (e.g., cable glands) for optimal EMC protection. The outer jacket made of a halogen-free polymer provides additional protection against mechanical damage, weathering and oils.

Application and parameters

The MEGAFLEX 500-C cable is designed for fixed laying and for flexible connections (with free, unforced movements). Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +80°C (after installation) and -30°C to +80°C (flexible), making it suitable for operation in harsh conditions. The rated voltage is 500 V, and the outer diameter is approximately 6.4 mm. The cable meets a number of standards, including DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11/ DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939, UL-Std.758 confirming its high quality and safety of use. Additionally, the cable is UV-resistant, oil-resistant and has self-extinguishing properties.
