Halogen-free cable for inverters TOPFLEX®-06-EMV-UV-2XSLCHK-J 4G185 mm² black, coloured cores acc. to DIN VDE 0293-308 18052034
Product features
- High reliability and safety for inverter installations
This black, multi-strand halogen-free cable with a cross-section of 185 mm² is designed for demanding applications powering motors with inverters. Its construction ensures not only effective energy transmission but also a high level of safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The cable is ideal for both industrial installations and public buildings, where minimizing interference and ensuring fire protection are crucial.
Construction and properties
The TOPFLEX®-06-EMV-UV-2XSLCHK-J cable stands out with its advanced construction, which guarantees long-lasting and reliable operation. The use of multi-wire copper conductors, class 5 (according to IEC 60228) ensures flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation increases the current-carrying capacity and allows operation at temperatures up to +90°C – higher than with traditional PE insulation. Two screens – AL-PET foil and a copper wire braid – effectively suppress electromagnetic interference, protecting sensitive devices from its effects. The outer sheath made of a halogen-free material minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire, increasing the safety of users and installers.
- Halogen-free: Compliance with IEC 60754-1 and IEC 60754-2 ensures no emission of toxic gases during combustion.
- UV resistance: Suitable for outdoor use without fear of material degradation from sunlight.
- Shielding: Double shielding minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in installations with inverters.
- Flexibility: Multi-wire conductor construction makes installation and adaptation to various installation configurations easier.
- Thermal resistance: XLPE insulation allows operation at temperatures up to +90°C, increasing the cable's current-carrying capacity.
- XLPE application: Increases current carrying capacity and operating temperature on the conductor up to +90°C compared to PE insulation.
Applications and compliance with standards
This cable is widely used in powering motors with frequency converters (inverters) in various industries: automotive, food, environmental technology, packaging, and machine tools. It is designed for use in dry, damp or wet rooms, as well as outdoors and directly in the ground (provided proper installation). It meets the requirements of IEC 60502-1 for cables for powering motors with inverters and has a fire reaction class of Dca-s2, d1, a1 according to EN 13501-6. To optimize electromagnetic compatibility, it is recommended to make contact of the copper braid on both sides with the terminals (e.g. EMC cable glands). The minimum bending radius for movable installations is 1166 mm and for fixed installations 583 mm.
