Halogen-free cable for inverters – reliability and safety in one. This halogen-free cable, designated TOPFLEX®-06-EMV-UV-3-PLUS-2XSLCHK-J, is an advanced solution for powering motors with inverters. Designed for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), it is ideal for systems, buildings and facilities sensitive to interference. This cable is distinguished by its high flexibility and durability, which translates into convenient installation and long-term operation.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction, ensuring reliable operation even in difficult conditions. The use of XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation increases the current carrying capacity and temperature resistance – the cores can operate at temperatures up to +90°C. Double shielding (AL/PET foil and copper braid) minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is crucial when powering devices controlled by inverters. Additionally, the cable is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors. The halogen-free outer jacket provides safety in the event of a fire – it limits the emission of toxic gases.

Applications and technical parameters

The TOPFLEX®-06-EMV-UV-3-PLUS-2XSLCHK-J cable is primarily used to power motors with frequency inverters (VFDs) in various industries: automotive, food, environmental technology, as well as in the packaging industry and machine tools. The possibility of direct burial in the ground (observing appropriate installation rules) expands the scope of its applications. The cable meets stringent safety and quality standards confirmed by the fire reaction class Dca according to EN 13501-6 and other certificates.

The core cross-section is 3x240 + 3G50 mm², the rated voltage U is 1000 V, and U0 600 V. The permissible operating temperature is from -5°C to +90°C (flexible) and from -40°C to +90°C (fixed). The minimum bending radius for flexible installations is 1124 mm, and for fixed installations 562 mm. The cable has a fire reaction class of Dca (s2, d1, a1).

For optimal electromagnetic compatibility, it is recommended to make a two-sided contact of the copper braid with the clamps during installation (e.g. using EMC cable glands). This ensures effective shielding against interference and stable operation of devices.
