High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This two-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable with a cross-section of 35 mm² is an advanced solution for installations requiring resistance to extreme temperatures and harsh environmental conditions. The cable is distinguished by its exceptional flexibility and safety, thanks to the use of special silicone insulation. It is ideal for both professionals and for use in demanding industrial conditions.
Construction and properties
The cable is designed for reliability and durability. It consists of multi-strand, flexible copper conductors, twisted to ensure maximum flexibility. Insulation made of high-quality silicone rubber guarantees resistance to temperatures from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire – it releases a minimal amount of toxic gases during combustion. The color coding of the conductors (brown and blue) facilitates identification in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308. The outer jacket made of silicone in brick red provides additional mechanical and chemical protection.
Applications and benefits
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable finds wide application in various industries where extreme thermal conditions prevail:
- Power plants: Due to its high temperature resistance and dielectric properties.
- Steelworks and foundries: In places exposed to high temperatures and an aggressive chemical environment.
- Shipbuilding industry: Where resistance to moisture, salt water and changing weather conditions is required.
- Cement plants: In a dusty and high-temperature environment.
- Heating installations: For connecting high-power heating devices.
- Food industry: Thanks to the absence of halogen, the cable can be used in places requiring high hygiene standards.
Additional advantages:
- Chemical resistance: The cable is resistant to oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, acids, alkalis and oxidizing agents.
- Flexibility: The multi-strand conductor construction ensures easy installation and adaptation to the shape of the installation.
- Safety: The halogen-free coating minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire.
- Durability: High-quality materials guarantee a long service life of the cable even in difficult operating conditions.
- Compliance with standards: The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83.
The conductor cross-section of 35 mm² and the rated voltage of 500 V allow for safe transmission of large currents in demanding industrial and electrical installations. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 24.6 mm, which should be taken into account when designing cable routes.
