High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This multi-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with insulation made of special silicone, is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures, both high and low, making it an ideal choice for industrial and specialized applications. This cable complies with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), twisted to ensure flexibility. Silicone insulation provides not only thermal resistance but also good dielectric properties. The cores are identified with colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308, which facilitates correct connection. The outer jacket made of special silicone rubber in brick red color further protects the cable against mechanical damage and external factors.
This cable stands out with a wide range of operating temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). It is also resistant to many chemical substances, including oils, greases, acids and alkalis. Additionally, it is halogen-free, which increases safety in case of fire – during combustion, SiO2 insulation is formed.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds application in many branches of industry, such as power plants, steelworks, foundries, shipbuilding industry and cement plants. It will work everywhere where high thermal and chemical resistance is required. Thanks to the flexibility of the connection cores, it facilitates assembly even in hard-to-reach places.
- Extreme temperatures: Operation in the range of -60°C to +180°C (short-term +220°C) allows for use in the most demanding conditions.
- Chemical resistance: Resistance to oils, greases, acids and alkalis ensures long-term reliability in an aggressive environment.
- Safety: Halogen-free construction minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire.
- Flexibility: Multi-strand cores facilitate assembly and connection.
- Core identification: Color coding according to DIN VDE 0293-308 ensures correct connection.
- Rated voltage: Cable adapted to work at 500V.
- Conductor cross-section: 25 mm², which provides adequate current carrying capacity for many applications.
- Outer diameter: Approximately 23.4 mm facilitates cable routing in installations.
