High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This 6-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial and specialized applications. The cable complies with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), providing flexibility and ease of installation. The silicone insulation is characterized by high thermal resistance – it can withstand continuous operation at temperatures up to +180°C, and briefly up to +220°C. Additionally, the cable retains its properties at low temperatures, down to -60°C. The outer silicone jacket provides additional protection and resistance to external factors. The cores are identified with colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308, which facilitates correct connection. The cable has a yellow-green protective conductor.
Applications and benefits
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable finds application in a wide range of industries where high thermal resistance and flexibility are required:
- Heavy industry: power plants, steelworks, foundries, cement plants – everywhere where extreme temperatures occur.
- Shipbuilding industry: resistance to moisture and harsh weather conditions.
- Industrial automation: connections in devices exposed to high temperatures.
- Lighting: lighting installations in places with elevated temperatures.
- Heating devices: electrical connections in heating systems.
Additional advantages:
- Halogen-free: meets IEC 60332-1-2 and VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 813) standards, which increases fire safety. In the event of a fire, the insulation leaves behind SiO₂ – a non-combustible glass deposit.
- Chemical resistance: resistant to mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, acids, alkalis and oxidizing agents.
- Radiation resistance: withstands irradiation up to 20 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 20 Mrad).
- Flexibility: facilitates routing cables in tight spaces.
- Rated voltage U: 500 V – versatility of use in various electrical installations.
- Approximate outer diameter: 10.4 mm – facilitates selection of appropriate connectors and mounting accessories.
This cable is an investment in the safety and reliability of electrical installations in demanding working conditions – both for professional installers and end users!
