Flexible cable for applications in motion – reliability in harsh conditions
This metered m.FLEX 512-PUR 5G6 flexible cable is a solution designed for demanding industrial applications where resistance to bending and external factors is crucial. Made from high-quality materials, it ensures reliable operation even in the most dynamic environments. The cable features a grey, halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) insulation, which increases safety and minimizes the emission of toxic substances in the event of a fire.
Construction and properties – a combination of durability and flexibility
The cable is constructed with five cores of 6 mm² cross-section, made of stranded copper wire (class 6 according to DIN VDE 0295). Each core is insulated with modified PP, and the protective core (yellow-green) is placed on the outside. The cores are twisted in parallel, and each layer of twisted cores has a special protective braid – which increases the mechanical strength of the cable. The whole is surrounded by a special outer coating made of polyurethane (TMPU), providing resistance to abrasion, tearing, oils and aggressive chemicals. This ensures that the cable retains its properties even with intensive use and frequent bending.
- Exceptional flexibility: The cable construction allows for a large number of bending cycles (tested by method H for approx. 10 million cycles), making it ideal for use in energy chains and moving parts of machines.
- Resistance to external factors: The PUR outer jacket provides resistance to UV radiation, ozone, solvents, acids, alkalis and hydraulic fluids.
- Safety: The halogen-free insulation material minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in a temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (flexibly) and from -30°C to +80°C during installation and stationary operation.
- Low friction resistance: PP core insulation provides low friction resistance, which translates to a longer cable life and easier installation.
- Adhesion resistance: The special construction prevents the cable from sticking to other elements, making it easier to route and replace.
